    • Who is Australia Gift Shop?

      Australia Gift Shop is a totally Australian owned and operated business set up for the purpose of providing a distinctive range of Australian gifts & souvenirs MADE IN AUSTRALIA or designed in Australia and featuring Australian Aboriginal art designs PAINTED BY ABORIGINAL ARTISTS.
      We only sell our products via this website. Our office and warehouse are located in Bundaberg in the State of Queensland in Australia. We are registered with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission. Our registered business names are "Australia Gifts Online" and "Australia Gift Shop", we are a division of PlanetPilgrim.com (Marketing and Product Sourcing) and our ABN or Australian Business Number (with the Australian Taxation Office) is: 51 384 048 696.

    • Where are your products made?

      ALL OF OUR ABORIGINAL ARTIFACT PRODUCTS ARE MADE IN AUSTRALIA. ALL OF OUR BOOMERANGS, jewellery, cosmetics, placemats & coasters, food products, mousepads, paintings, postcards and fridge magnets ARE MADE IN AUSTRALIA.
      However, only a few of our Australiana souvenir lines are not. These include :

      The abovementioned bag, hat, mug and thongs (only 4 products) are "Made in China", even though they are "Designed in Australia".
      Many Australian souvenir retailers boast about the fact that their goods are "Designed in Australia". What this label really means is that the products are not made in Australia. These products are usually made in China.

    • Do you stock products with images of Australian icons/landscapes?

      Most of our products feature Aboriginal art designs painted by Australian Aboriginal artists. Many of these display images of Australian iconic fauna such as kangaroos.

    • Do you have a print catalogue?

      No, we do not have a print catalogue, although our full retail catalogue is available online. Simply click on any "Products" links on our Website for our categorised catalogue. It begins on http://www.australiagift.com.au/categories.php .....

    • What payment options do you offer?

      For everyday retail sales through our shopping cart we offer three (3) common methods of payment to customers plus some other lesser-used options. They are : 



      1. ONLINE BY CREDIT CARD (or Debit Card) using MasterCard or Visa (or online directly through a PayPal account but only if you have one)

      2. BY PHONE USING CREDIT CARD (or Debit Card) with MasterCard or Visa

      3. DIRECT DEPOSIT or EFT through Internet Banking (within Australia)

      4. Internet Banking Global Transfers accepted from anywhere in the world (We accept Direct Deposit, Direct Transfers or Telegraphic Transfers through Internet banking from any country on earth providing payment is made into our "Australia Gifts Online" business bank account.)

      5. PayPal Account Payments

      6. [Highly Non-Recommended] Money Order (only within Australia)


      We do not accept cheques / checks.


      * Online Credit Card (and Debit Card) Payments are processed through our Internet Payment Service, PayPal.
      Our regular retail sales are almost ALL ONLINE BY CREDIT CARD or OVER THE PHONE USING CREDIT CARD. We operate on quick order fulfillment using air mail and the efficiency of  the web for international sales transactions.


      Direct Deposit (or Bank Account Direct Transfer, mostly using Internet Banking) is quite popular within Australia.
      We take postal money orders within Australia. However, this is not possible from outside Australia using Australia Post.


      An international direct deposit can be made through Internet Banking Global Transfers and also by telegraphic transfer (or wire).


      We do take telegraphic transfers for wholesale export sales, although they are not practical for small transactions because they cost a minimum of $30, regardless of how small the amount being transferred.


      Aside from Internet payments (involving mainly credit cards), phone payments using credit cards and direct deposits, this leaves us with only one other highly non-recommended option. This option is payment by money order (only within Australia). Again, we take very few money orders within Australia.


      Shipping Times


      If you purchase online using your MasterCard or Visa credit card, you will receive the goods almost anywhere in the world within 10 to12 business days. Standard Postage to Australian Eastern States is usually within 2 to 5 business days.     • Do you charge for shipment or postage? How can I find out the shipping costs before I place an order or without having to place an order?

      If you purchase online using your MasterCard or Visa credit card, you will receive the goods almost anywhere in the world within 10 to12 business days.     • How do I make a purchase? How do I place an order?

      Gather your selection of Aussie gifts together into the shopping cart by clicking the Buy button for each product you wish to include. Once you have placed all the items in the shopping cart > click the Checkout button > enter your customer details > Choose your payment method [credit card or direct deposit or by phone > click the Checkout button below your customer details.


      This takes you to the shopping cart transaction totals page which specifies the total amount including shipping/postage costs and Goods & Services Tax (GST), which is only applicable to customers within Australia. Amounts are in Australian Dollars (AU$). To convert the total to another currency, simply click on the "Convert Currency" link (only in desktops and laptops) at the bottom right of the page.


      Under the transaction cost total, click the Checkout button. This takes you to our :


      EITHER 1.  [If paying by Most Common Method - Credit Card] PayPal Billing Information page where you enter your credit card details. You will see the locked padlock symbol in the browser status bar under this webpage. This indicates that any information supplied here is fully secured by industry-standard, 128-bit encryption for your protection, our protection and peace of mind for everyone involved. 


      Click Continue to finalise the transaction and complete your purchase. Within minutes, you will receive an email from PayPal Australia confirming your payment, followed shortly after by an email from us confirming your order and payment. This email confirms your shipping details, specifies the contents of the order and provides dispatch information.


      OR 2.  [If paying by Direct Deposit / EFT or by Phone using your credit card] The screen will display your order summary, followed shortly after by an email from us confirming your order. This email all contains details about our business bank account for Direct Deposit or EFT [Electronic Funds Transfer - using your Internet Banking].

    • How can I ensure your shopping site is safe and secure?

      We sell exclusively using Secure Sales Transactions accepting Credit Cards & direct PayPal payments by employing SSL (secure sockets layer) 128-bit encryption ( check for the lock or unbroken key at the bottom of your browser before you provide your card details). 

    • I was trying to place an order but I do not understand how it works with the payment. Can you please tell me how it works?

      Simply follow the instructions below to easily place your order using Visa or MasterCard. You do NOT have to be a PayPal member.


      Instructions to purchase items using our shopping cart :

      > choose a product
      > click "buy"  [DO NOT CLICK "Checkout" at this stage]
      > WAIT for the shopping cart page to open
      > Change the QUANTITY to the number you wish to purchase
      > click "Update Totals" and wait a few seconds
      > click "continue" to continue shopping for other items    OR click "checkout"
      > complete your customer details (NOT including credit card information)
      > choose the payment method  [usually Credit Card or PayPal]
      > click "checkout" again
      > the next page displays the total price for your order (including delivery)
      > click "checkout" again
      FOR CREDIT CARD PAYMENT METHOD:
      > You are taken to a secure PayPal page
      > On this page you will see "Not a PayPal member? Click here", click there
      > Complete your credit card details
      > click "continue checkout" to complete your purchase.
      FOR PHONE or DIRECT DEPOSIT  PAYMENT METHODS :
      > The screen displays a summary of your order
      > Print order if you wish
      > We immediately phone you (if you are paying over the phone) 
      OR we send you an email of the order summary which also includes our bank account details (if you are paying by Direct Deposit or EFT using your Internet Banking).

    • How can I recognise the transaction on my credit card statement?

      Payments are processed through our Internet Payment Service, PayPal Australia.


      Your purchase transaction will appear in your credit card statement or bank statement (if you use a debit card) as "PAYPAL*AUSGIFTSHOP".         

    • What is your policy on refunds?

      Customer satisfaction is our primary concern. When we issue a customer refund we include original shipping / postage charges too.


      If a customer is not 100% satisfied with the quality of a product due to damage or a fault in that product, we immediately give the customer a refund of 100% of the purchase price including original shipping / postage charges too.


      However, in some instances, at our reasonable discretion, it is necessary for us to observe the damage or fault (either physically or by emailed image) before considering whether a refund is warranted and before agreeing to refund the customer. We supply a number of totally handmade products / artifacts which display markings and inconsistencies that are an inherent part of the very nature of the product, rather than what may be perceived as damage or a fault.


      By the way, our only refunds in the last year have not been due to any problem with a product per se. It has been because we could not deliver the order by the required date or due to the fact that we did not have/could not procure the large quantity of stock that the customer ordered (insufficient stock available).


      The only exception to this was an Aussie Slouch Hat which had one cork missing when it arrived at its destination. We simply sent another hat that day, free of charge and with apologies, of course. 

    • What do you do with my private details, such as my email address?

      We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of information you provide to us. Australia Gift Shop will never give, sell, rent or lease customer information to third parties.


      When you buy our products, your credit card payments are handled by PayPal, our secure online payment service. We never see these credit card details.


      In the case of payments over the phone using your credit card or debit card, we NEVER store any customers' credit card or debit card details - UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.


      Your contact data (like your email address) is disclosed to Australia Gift Shop for order fulfillment, delivery and customer support purposes only and is kept confidential by Australia Gift Shop and PayPal.       

    • What credit cards and debit cards do you accept?

      We accept Visa and MasterCard - online and by phone. The only exception to this is that we are also able to accept American Express credit cards from American customers in the USA - online and by phone.

    • How do I know my credit card details are safe with you?

      Your billing data (like your credit card number) is NEVER disclosed to Australia Gift Shop during online sales. When payments are made to Australia Gift Shop by phone using credit card or debit card, we NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, store card details. 


      YOUR CREDIT CARD PAYMENT IS PROCESSED IMMEDIATELY, IN REAL-TIME. CREDIT CARD NUMBERS ARE SENT DIRECTLY AND SECURELY TO YOUR BANK. YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER IS NEVER STORED by Australia Gift Shop, neither ONLINE nor OFFLINE. 

  • Shipping / Delivery Costs & Times

    • How long does it take to receive an online purchase? What are the shipping or delivery times?

      If you purchase online using your MasterCard or Visa credit card, you will receive the goods almost anywhere in the world within 10 to12 business days. Standard Postage to Australian Eastern States is usually within 2 to 5 business days.     • Do you charge for shipment or postage? How can I find out the shipping costs before I place an order or without having to place an order?

      We do charge postage. Orders are dispatched through Australia Post.


      TO FIND OUT THE POSTAGE COST, simply choose the item you wish to buy, then > click "buy" to place the product in the shopping cart (even if you are not actually placing an order) > change "Quantity" to the number you wish to purchase > choose "the country you want the goods sent to" in the "Country" drop menu > click "Update Totals" to see the "Shipping Cost" displayed.


      You can then click "Continue Shopping" (to add other items to the order) or close the page. You can do this to find out shipping costs for any number of any of our products, without having to place an order.


      The cost per item decreases as more items are chosen in our shopping cart because the Australia Post charges are calculated by weight, with cost increments decreasing with added weight. 

    • When am I likely to receive the goods I purchased from your online shop?

      Our stated delivery times begin from the moment your packaged order leaves our warehouse. This is referred to as dispatch (or despatch) of the goods. Usually orders are dispatched within 24 hours (weekends excepted). We send all international orders through Australia Post by Air Mail from Australia. Domestic orders (within Australia) are also sent by Australia Post. Larger corporate gift orders are sent by Fast Courier or Express Post.


      The average Standard Shipping (air mail) delivery time to the USA, Europe, Britain, Japan and Canada is within 8-12 days. Delivery to our South-East Asian neighbours, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand or Brunei, is usually within 10 days. Express Shipping overseas generally takes about 4 days less than by standard shipping.


      Standard Post within Australia usually arrives within 2 to 5 days to the Australian Eastern States (Qld, NSW, VIC) and 5 to 10 days to the remainder of Australia. Due to the fact that we are in Bundaberg in Queensland, parcels can be expected to arrive in Brisbane in 1 or 2 days, Sydney and Melbourne in 4 days,Tasmanian metro in 4 to 6 days, Adelaide in 5 days and Perth in 6 or 7 days.


      Express Post within Australia arrives in metropolitan & near-metro areas of the Eastern States (incl. Tasmania) & Adelaide the next business day, if purchased online before 11.00am. If an online purchase is made after 11.00am, than the parcel can be expected to arrive on the second business day.

    • When are orders dispatched?

      Even during our busiest times, orders are normally dispatched (and delivery begins) within 24 hours of your online order, except for purchases made on the weekends. Weekend orders are generally despatched on the following Monday or Tuesday, at the latest.
